Seeking the sacred space. No road trip would be complete without a trip to the churches of a city. One of Lefever's artistic goals as an artist, as a photographer, and as a Christian is to travel the world and document sacred spaces and peoples' approach to worship.
In San Francisco, LeFever only had a couple hours in which to visit four churches. He focused his attention to those artifacts as symbols through which people felt compelled and safe to lay down their prayers and offer their hopes.

The Christ dead and the Christ risen, Alter statues both with outstretched arms.
The dead Christ with arms spread wide, nailed into place, bears the weight of a world's sin as the sacrificial Lamb of God. Alone - once and for all.
The risen Christ, Jesus, open arms welcoming all to the grace through a job well done by the Alpha and Omega.
