Q.4.2007 QUIET TIME N.Y.C.

Seeking sacred space continues in New York. In New York this past December, LeFever stopped into visit at a few different churches from his past trips to the city that are his favorites to photograph (like St John the Divine seen directly below and to the right). The trip to N. Y. was not for capturing images of churches so many of the churches visited were by chance while walking.

Saint Vincent Ferrer Church. On this trip, LeFever was introduced to a new favorite, Saint Vincent Ferrer. SVF is a church filled with blue light that pours through her thick stained glass windows. An active church with people coming in steadily to pray in the small Holy Name Chapel to the right of entering the main church doors (picture to the left).
Saint Vincent Ferrer on the web.

The very top shot above is the ceiling of a small Presbyterian church found while walking the streets. Another shot of the church is second from the top at left. The three photos below and the last one on the lower left are more shots from Saint John the Divine's which is still undergoing renovation from the fire that burned the North Transept in 2001.
