After midnight, when the streets quiet down...

A Marriage of Fascinations.
With a fascination of fluid dynamics and another for the psychology and mannerisms of smokers, LeFever began his Smoker Series at the end of 2006 as an ongoing study of smokers and their smoke.

Adding to the mix, a cold Winter in the outdoor room of TheSHACK with particular lighting to heighten the smoke fluidity, a sense of afterhour isolation emerges.

LeFever says this is the beginning of his Smoker study. Female smokers are next in the Smoker Series. A work in progress, expect to see more in future updates on lefever.com.

This series is an interesting fascination considering that LeFever doesn't smoke. When asked about this, LeFever comments, "There is an elegance revealed by the smoke of the air currents, a ballet, a poetic line as if spoken silently by a smoker's exhale. Add to this a sort of intimacy in the act of smoking, of consumption and waste - a self administration of drugs that become personally ritualistic - it fascinates me."
